how to remove seized 5.7l
I am swapping my 2004 hemi 5.7l - I have everything disconnected except for 2 of the 4 bolts on the flexplate to Torque Converter . I can't rotate the flexplate to get to the last 2. I didn't think the engine was completely seized. I did pull one head and the pistons are now corroded to the cylinder walls due to a blown head gasket and it sitting like this for 6 months.

Is there a way to turn the flexplate easier? I read to turn harmonic balance but I can't budge it. (On my replacement engine it is easy to rotate flexplate)
Do I have to pull the engine and tranny together or can I slide the Torque Converter out with the engine? I found this post but it is pretty vague with no real instructions on how to do it.:

Take the spark plugs out of the other side head and pour in some Marvel Mystery oil in each hole and piston to moisten up the corosion. Let it set overnight or for atleast a few hours. Then use a piece of wood and beat in on the top of a piston that is 1/2way down the sleeve. If you pound on one that is at or very close to the top, your not getting much leverage on the crankshaft. Maybe have someone try to turn the pulley bolt as you hammer on a piston? If you use metal, you;ll prob break through the top of the piston.
I sprayed Sea Foam Penetrating oil into the open cylinders and through the sparkplug holes on the other side this morning. (Can't get mystery oil in Canada)
Hope she spins tonight with your method. I will also try a pry bar on the harmonic balancer.

If you aren't trying to save the engine for rebuild, get a 2 lb sledge and a 2x4 about 18" long, smack the top of a piston that off tdc or bdc and break the seizing loose if you can, once its moved, you may be able to rotate it to the last 2 bolts on the TC
Your suggestions worked. A lot of strain rotating the harmonic balancer but I eventually got it cranked around enough to remove the last few bolts.
I have it seperated from the tranny with a bit of prying. There are 4 wires I missed which all connect to the exhaust sensors. Those clips are a real bugger. On my replacement engine he cut the wires after the clips because he could not seperate them. It took me a few minutes on each of them to seperate. I can't imagine how tough it will be while under the truck with very limited space.
Would electical/electronic cleaner work its way into the connectors to help loosen them up? I dare to say brake cleaner since it evaporates eventually.
Thanks for everyones input. I would not have been able to do it without your help.
