with this knowledge the wholesale value of the truck is 11200 in excellent condition they are offering 15900. do you guys think the aftermarket parts are worth that much: 20" wheels, tonneau cover, volant cold air intake, and a aftermarket radio. or do you think i have some negotiating room

Go in there with a baseball bat and make em see it your way...

Is 11.2 kbb?
If so, they are trying to milk a nice sounding truck. Get a bigger bat.

Well I have $13,000+ in mods alone on my truck and I was told by a dealer (sales manager actually) that mods are worth NOTHING in the used car (truck) market when I went looking at getting a diesel about two years ago. I had one years ago and was seriously thinking of getting another.

So I'd say if it's in great shape, offer retail book and not a penny more...

Yep, the extras were a nice freebie thrown on by the last owner. They don't change the value of the truck one dime.

Agree with Hammer. Go to the same dealer and try to trade in a truck with expensive mods. They won't be listed in the book and they won't add a thing for them. And most banks probably wouldn't increase the amount they would loan based on them either. That said, I wouldn't pay 4 grand for those mods anyway. The value of mods is in the eye of the beholder. Consider them worthless unless they are things you'd do to the truck anyway. Then they may have some value to you, personally, given that they are already done.

I went through something similar when I sold my bike last year. I had thousands in mods and chrome added to it, as most do, but a dealer will allow almost nothing for them in trade and banks only loan based on book value. So, I had to find someone that had some appreciation for the value of the mods and was willing and able to pay cash. Took me a few months, but I found him.
