Default changing plugs @ 280k?

Got 278,000 on the hemi. Never have changed the plugs in it. Fuel mileage is still 14.5 mixed.

Will they come out at this point, or are they welded in? Never dealt with an alum. headed street engine before.

Are there 8 or 16 plugs?

Wow...you need to post pictures of what they look like when you get them out. 16 plugs total on the hemi.

With that kind of maintenance practice you might want to leave them in. I'm not sure how much longer it's going to last anyway.

Probably time to change the oil, too.

Always fun when people are proud of their laziness and inability to even take the time to learn about the cars they drive.

The funny thing is, some vehicles run JUST FINE with old plugs in them.
If the vehicle runs fine, why be **** on the maintenance?
Besides, if the OP IS NOT the first owner, why does it matter? The PO prolly changed them per dealer schedule.

Well, I didn't see him boasting about anything, or showing that he doesn't know anything about vehicles. He just hasn't changed his plugs. That's his choice.

No, the 05 ram 1500. (And yes we're the only owner on it, drove it off the lot in May 05)

We maintain the truck. 4 wheel bearings, trans flush every 50k, ect. We just haven't gotten to the plugs because it's never showed a sign of needing them. If it's running with good mileage, why replace them? MPG is just starting to fall, saying it's time to pull them out- if we can.

It's a service truck on the week days getting about 600 miles a week, and a race car hauler on he weekends pulling 2800 pound car + 2300 pound trailer.
