I would say reset the PCM afterwards, but it probably doesn't matter a whole lot. The Sea Foam treatment isn't a radical thing.

I have an 05 Hemi Ram 4x4 SLT, I found the exact same problem I noticed a year ago when I switched it to 4x4H and gunned it. So when I saw the rpm drop like that I assumed it was electrical and I pulled over. I switched the column shift to neutral and the 4x4 back to 2h , then turned the truck off and on again and used reverse to try ease the gears if that helps i dunno? then I peeled out just fine. I noticed this using 4x4 twice after but now I am noticing it in 2h AFTER A LONG ROAD TRIP ASWELL, I took it into dodge and asked to get the fuel system serviced cause it was acting like my old chevy's I could not do the fuel filter cause it was in the tank, a good place for it. So I decided not to have it pulled truck seemed fine again until now it does the same thing as yours and the check engine light is on and at one point blinked. Now This is a good truck 78,000km very good condition. But it has a weird problem the map lights wont come on if you click them. At the oil change a few days ago before I noticed the problem in 2h I asked them to look at it, Dodge said it was a ground grounding out somewhere. They wanted a couple hours to find it. My light under the hood came off so I was certain it was that or the command start I had installed. It was going back to them to get smart start added on my autostart haha. So I had them check over their own wiring and its good and the hood light isnt it and no burnt fuses cause map lights work with doors or switch. I am hoping it is a fuel pump or plugs or something cheap and not the tranny, It still has a bumper to bumper extended warranty but I act like it isnt there so I dont flip out if they try to get out of it from some loophole. Any chance your map lights do same thing?

I am going to try the pcm reset as the truck actually died at a light today then went back to normal after i shut it off. I am just curious if I could potentially mess something up. Do you know if it will affect my smart start at all?

well the hesitation is still there,it felt like it got better for a while but now i feel like im back to square one. i have noticed a couple times that when i take my truck out of park and throw it in drive the truck kinda goes into neutral for a few seconds and then will kick in, also the main worry i have is when i gun it from a stop it revs all the way out rmps jump up and down and then after about a second or two it pops back into gear and continues to shift properly through the rest of the gears. is my tranny slippin at 83,000 miles or could it be something else i could maybe check out. changed the spark plugs, checked the pcv valve, and recently changed the thermostat. can anyone help think of something im not thinkin of. would the egr valve cause symptoms like this?

My truck 05 5.7. Did the same thing yours is doing. It would fall on its face when you floored it and be fine under normal driving. Eventually it wouldnt go into 2nd. The transmission is linked to to the engine by the computer. My transmission had a faulty solenoid (which I think are a common problem) which was fixed under my extended warranty.

I took it in today finally, and it turned out to be a Crank Sensor, I had the engine tune up done with new spark plugs, it had a p0016 Crankshaft code. 80 Bucks to fix the sensor. Good ole Dodge.
