Mine looks nothing like that...that looks like a small muffler. It is, however, in the same location. Mine is just an enlarged portion (bubble) in the piping behind the rear pass tire...almost like a small cat. I think I might just put a flowmaster in place of the stock muffler and go from there.

I removed my muffler and replaced it with a piece of straight 3" pipe.
I have straight pipe from the cats all the way back to the resonator.

I had a local exhuast shop cut a piece of pipe 39 inches long and notch it at both ends.
I re-used the clamps from the muffler to mount the pipe.
Cost me $25.

I got a better exhaust tone out of it and better gas mileage.
i just did the same thing to my 04 and it sounds very mean.... may be a little louder than what your looking for but if your planning on doing flowmasters you might as well do this and see if you like it, may be worth the $25-$35
