Gas guage problem
2 Problems with my gas gauge...hopefully someone else has seen this.
For the last couple years I've been having a problem with my gas gauge. After filling my tank up and driving a few miles, my gauge drops to empty and my engine & gas lights come on. This only happens a couple times right after filling up. Then, after restarting the truck a few times it stops...until the next time I fill it up. I did a search and found this thread:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...e-problem.html
It suggests wiggling the wires (which I haven't done yet), but for two years the problem is consistent with ONLY a full tank and only the first few starts. If it were loose connections, I would think the problem would be more inconsistent.
The second problem, and this just started to happen...
My gauge is totally miss-calibrated. When I fill the truck, the needle doesn't move from full until I put about 80miles on the truck...then the needle starts to drop. My gas light now comes on when the gauge is at 1/4 tank. 1/4 Tank is my new empty. Weird.
Any suggestions??
Thanks!

Its not normal for my truck. I bought this truck new, and from day one my gas light comes on when the needle is very near empty. Its now coming on much sooner (at 1/4 tank). I'm getting the same mileage and the same miles per tank.
