Default Fog light connector

I replaced my fog light bulbs with a halogen 80W bulb. I have a problem with these new bulbs generating too much heat and they are melting the plastic connector but not the wires. I tried replacing the connector with an aftermarket one with i bigger guage in wire but its still melting at the connector. I was wondering if anyone knew of any suggestios as to how i can fix this problem. It would be great if i could find a connector harnesss made out of the same material as the halogen bulb connector but im having no luck at the local auto parts stores??

Not to be a smarta$$ but use the proper replacement bulb would be my suggestion. Aside from that I would imagine that the wise thing to do if you need a brighter foglamp would be to somehow cobble mounts together and replace the stock units with similar sized aftermarket ones.

I also recommend going back to the original bulb. If you want something brighter then get an HID kit

Thanks guys but those HID kits seem like such a pain to deal with. I'm gonna try a lower wattage bulb and if that doesn't work then I'll break down and buy the HID kit that I have to pay to modify. Do they sell a plug and play kit that I wouldn't have to modify for my truck?

Thats a similar harness that I got from a local audio shop..their solution to Ram HID problems haha. I however have a Dakota but its basically the same PITA CANBUS operated headlight system

Harness and resistors for the fogs? No.

Harness and resistors for the headlights? Yes

We have a dedicated HID sticky thread BTW.
