to put it simple a "canned" tune is something like superchips which you plug into your data port and it downloads a generic tune into you truck's pcm. A custom tune would be a specific one that you would have someone put in for you based on the mods you have done etc... to maximize your performance. The canned tune anyone can do as all you do is follow onscreen prompts and voila your done. Certain tunes will require higher octane fuels just follow the directions and owners manual and you shouldn't have a problem.
wait a minute... you guys are saying there is an actual "tow haul" function?? All this time I thought when people were talking about tow/haul they just meant turning off the OD. My 03 has no tow/haul that I know of???
I think the actual tow/haul button didn't start till 2004.
