I had forgotten about starting this thread. I still havent done anything to level my truck but have decided to just crank the bars and install extended shocks. I think i am just going to wait until i wear as much of the remaining rubber off my tires as i can and am ready to upgrade to 17" aftermarket rims and new tires.

cranking bars = stiffer ride regardless of shock choice.

Why dont you go with Bilstein Lift struts, or Rancho Quicklifts? It's a lift and a new strut all in one. You can pick your ride height as well!

Struts or Quicklifts are a coil-over option ONLY.

I've done both the leveling kit (keys) and the freebie bolt turn for a couple of people and BOTH stiffen the front equally. Pressure on the torsion bars is pressure on the torsion bars no matter which method you choose.

Honestly, I see NO REASON why level kits are offered for torsion trucks as they seem to do the same thing as raising the stock key angle does...

stock length shocks will usually suffice, short term. The added travel will wear them out a lot faster though. If they are performing fine and not topping out then you can stick with them until they start to munk up, then get longer, better shocks. Inexpensive relocation brackets can always work too...

You definately don't want to just crank up your stock keys, if you go too high, they adjuster bolt can pop out of the indent on the key. If you still decide to go with new jeys, i'd get the Suspension Maxx keys, they have 7 settings from 2" lower than stock to 3" higher than stock, they run about $220 but it was the only one that fit correct, i tried a set off of eBay and a set of Tough Country ones and they weren't any more indexed than the stockies, the suspension maxx ones worked like a champ (they also give you a free box of stickers and a t-shirt and crap), i never had any issues without bump stops and just used my stock shocks, but i'd recommend upgrading. The ride DID get a bit stiffer as well.
