Will your truck do it, yes. Will it do it well, no. It will be slow. If I keep it around 50-55 with my setup it did a bit better on fuel. For a 1 shot tow you'd probably be fine. Estimate 9mpg towing... doing a reasonable 50-55. My 2500 hemi still only gets 9-10 towing the same RV. Most gas rigs are in that range. for any hill, rev that 4.7 up and run the hill a bit. It'll want to rev to make power...

I tow anything that I hook to my truck. Granted mine came from the factory with a manual trans, and 3.92 gears, but I still have had it way over capacity. Took a trailer full of broken up concrete driveway to the fill pile 30 miles away-scaled at 26,000 lbs, and was able to do 50 on the flat, uphill was another story. It is whatever you feel comfortable doing.

The fuel mileage will be a good bit better with the Chevy. Auto or manual?

Rent a tow dolly, and disconnect/tie up the driveshaft. Much less weight, mine weighs 370lbs.
