Yeah, it went in when I was test driving it. But it's all leather, power everything, wood grain, runs perfect. Has it's share of scratches and stuff, but it is a truck, so not a big issue. Too good of a deal to pass up. Just want to figure this 4x4 thing out, so looking for any ideas on how to test the elements of the system. Or other ideas

OK, try this. Put the truck in neutral on a slight grade, as it's rolling 1-3 mph (forward or reverse, doesn't matter), push your 4HI button - then put the truck in gear and drive forward for about 15' or so. Does the light go to a steady on?

Yeah, I have tried 4hi moving, fast, slow, nuetral, rolling, stopped, engine running, engine not, any variation I can think of. It won't go into anything, not even the 4wh Nuetral on the transfer case. So I have a feeling the problem is some type of electronic issue. Could these be caused by low fluid? Or does it seem like a strictly electronic issue.

Yep and old fluid badly needing a change can do it too. As stated so can a solenoid (very common) or the mode sensor (happens, but not as common)...

Is there any easy way to check those two items? I will change the fluid when I get a chance and see if it helps.

SHE'S FIXED!!!! After I let her dry off from de-mudding, I crawled under and looked for cracked/loose/suspect wires. None were found, but in removing and reconnecting the connections, she works beautifully now. This could be my best bargain yet. 12mpg never felt so good.
