Default leveling kit

I am get a 2" coil spring leveling kit on my wife's 04 ram 1500 2wd. I have read that you don't need new shocks with the kit. But people on other web site's have said the truck ride's really stiff in the front. The after in stalling the 2" leveling kit that the stock shocks are all the expanded. So i have heard to fix this just put Ram 2500 4×4 shocks on it. I have fond the Ranch 5000 Shocks for $58 and free shipping. Has anybody leveled there ram 1500 2wd without change there shock's?

I have on my 2002. I changed the shocks to Rancho RS500 a few months before I decided to level so I put a few washers on the lower shock stud to help with that. I originally tried to run them without the washers but they would top out on bumps, with the washers they ride just like they used to.

I have read, that the 03-05 2500 shocks are 2" longer and would be the correct length. I remember this because I am planning on putting 2" longer shocks in the front soon.
