Default Engine quit

Hi All,
I have had my 2004 Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi, 4X4 Quad Cab for about three weeks now. it has 207,000 miles on it and was not cared for well at the time I bought it. I have been giving it lots of maintenance and TLC. Today just as I let off the gas & turned the corner by my driveway…I stalled. It started right back up. I pulled in my drive and did some checking out. I connected my computer to the ODBII and checked for error codes….none. I was going to give it a drive, as I walked toward to house to tell my wife where I was going….It stalled. Started right back up, I drove it around a little with no problems. I have been checking the forum some. It looks like the first thing I’ll want to consider is looking at the IAC. Any other ideas?

IAC, throttle body could be totally caked up. I'd say crank sensor too as the symptoms are right, but it will almost always generate a CEL...

I’ve had this same problem. Whether or not this is your problem is the catch.

Replace the camshaft position sensor.

Don’t know why, but no check engine light kicks on. But just a warning, the CPS can be bad brand new. It’s not the trucks fault. It’s actually the manufacturer’s crappy job. And MOST are built from Mexico; try to find a USA one.

Good luck
