I recently bought an 07 hemi after trading in my 03 also a hemi. the new truck has cooper zeon all terraintires installed instead of the stock wrangler hps. it still has the stock rims. i find that is more difficult to turn the wheel than my old truck that had the goodyear hps. is this due to the the tire having all terrain patterns and gripping the pavement more. to be quite honest its a little annyoing and im having a hard time adjusting from my agile 03 to this more bulky truck. if i get tires that are normal will it be easier to turn the wheels?

btw both my hemis were quad cab 2wd.

any help appreciated thanks

Tire size and tread pattern would slightly effect steering, but if the truck steering is "annoying" as you say, I would say either you are very sensitive to subtle changes or you have a power steering problem...

How's the air pressure? Lower air pressure will cause it to feel a bit sluggish.

My steering effort did not change at all between the stock tires and the Coopers. Something is up with your power steering.

Sounds like you need an alignment. Does your truck have a leveling kit? Possible that the previous owner didn't have it aligned.
Also possible that the prvious owner changed out a tierod and didn't have it aligned.
I did a set of tierods one time and while I can get within 1/8" of being accurate, for some reason this one truck was binding pretty bad around turns. I was more than 1/8" off because i went off of a bad tierod measurement and the tires were toed out. Guy had it aligned and it was butter to steer.

I forgot to say...I hadno noticeable change in my steering after having my LTZ's installed.

I switched from the stock tires to 35" mudders and the steering feels almost the same, plus I have a heavier truck, something is definitely wrong. Some good points brought up though.
