hey guys, i have a 06 ram 1500 quad cab with the 3.7 engine and the last 3 to 4 months i have had my check engine light go on and off and every time i take it in to have someone read the code my number 4 cylinder has misfired. It constantly goes on and off and wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what the possible cause of it might be. Also have been noticing that my gas has been used faster than usual for example driving 20 miles and fuel guage says i have used a 3rd of a tank for only 20 miles, just doesnt seem right. Thought maybe it could be the fuel filter, come to realize they dont sell replacement filters for this model and cant seem to fix these 2 issues. I replace the spark plugs 4 months ago but didnt seem to fix anything. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

not to sure about the v6 but i have the 4.7 and was having the same thing as you only mine was cyl #2 i tried everything i could even took in to the dealer ,what a mistake that was $254.00 later there best guess ?????????????????? yes that is right guess they replaced the #2 fuel injector, the code was gone for one day and cel was back on ? after reading untill i could not see anymore ,i replaced the crank sensor and the cam sensor both at the same time and i did go back to the dealer to buy the senors nock on wood no more codes and no cel good luck hope this helps
