Default Speakers!

Ok so everyone talks about what speakers they put in but i never here what size they put in in the rea anyways. So its time to upgrade my speakers and i know the rears r 5 1/2" right? has anybody used the mopar kicker upgrade 6 1/2 in the rear doors without any problems or modifications besides the usual drilling more holes for an extra screw. And i have an 03 ram quad cab. I already upgraded the front with the kicker plug and play 6x9 and love them. now just the rear. Any help would b appreciated.

The mopar kickers are the same as the aftermarket they just have the connector in the rear so i dont have to cut any wires to install them. did u have any trouble installing the 6.5 in the rear doors or did u have to cut anything to install them? im just worried abiut the magnet hitting the glass

Never seen any dealer sell after market gear. Its their version of an upgrade but never as good as going 100% after market. I made 6.5" MDF trim rings and screwed them to the door first and then my speakers to them.

Ya its in the catalogue. its pretty much the dealership ordering straight from the kicker manufacture but comes with chrysler jeep and dodge conectors on the back of them for a plug and play install.so u made ur own spacers? so im assuming that without them the magnet will hit the glass right?

No. I had to do it because my OEM door speakers were 5.25s and 6.5 baskets would not fit. So I had to make the trim rings to fit the 6.5s
