Ok, dont have the papers but I called Justsuspension this morning and got the part numbers I ordered and had them reference the vehicle info again. They say those are the correct part #s. The front are 911188 and the rears 911187.

I bought her new. Nothing has been done to the suspension. Say the shocks are the right ones, it shouldnt go through the travel that fast anyway, correct me if Im wrong.

Well it's hard to say without experiencing but generally the shock travel should be smooth unless the shock is too soft for the vehicle.

A lot of guys have the Reflex shocks and really like them. Not a bad truck shock for a 4x2 or a 4x4 that only sees road usage. Could you have gotten a set of FUBAR ones maybe???

I guess getting a set of fubar ones is always a possibilty. If they wont due me right at justsuspension Im gonna put Ranchos up front because I did suspect these were too soft but I dont want to come off like I know truck suspensions. Im gonna have the whole front end looked at too just in case.

Good idea having someone take a look. The RS5000s I know pretty well and they are on the stiff side, to the point a few guys don't like them. I think they are fine, makes the truck ride more like a truck. Had them on my 2nd Gen and have the adjustable RS9000Xs on my 3rd Gen.

If it turns out you have to yank the Monroes for something else, you might want to look at the ProComp 9000. It's made for Pro Comp by Tenneco (who owns both Monroe and Rancho) and a lot of guys swear it's a white, generic RS5000 at half the money...

I've had the Rancho 5000s on my 03.
They rode great until I had to replace them because of leaking. But they did have over 90K on them.
I replaced them with Bilstein 4600 and believe me when I say, the truck rides like a truck now and is much stiffer than the Rancho's IMHO.

Ok, I had the front end checked by a truck suspension shop. Doesnt see anything wrong with the shocks. Said maybe the truck just took a weird bounce and made more noise than normal. Also the shocks maybe softer than I expected them to be. I'll put some time on these then switch em out I guess. Everything else looked good. Not bad for 102k miles.

Dang! I forgot to get air on the way home. I meant to check this. I put stock Monroe Reflex on mine recently (have a 2 1/2" lift). I think I've gotten air since I put 'em on, but I can't remember. I'd think if anything the replacement shocks you bought would be too short, not too long. Too long would never reach the limit of its travel, and might bottom out before the spring compressed to normal.
