9.25" LSD clicking with additive
Recently, I changed out the gear oil (75W-140) in the differential and topped off with the additive required to keep the LSD clutch packs from clicking. Had to add more additive a couple of times to get the clicks to stop. Ended up using the whole 7 oz. but the differential was happy.
This morning it was cold and raining here for the first time since I did the differential and the rear was clicking like mad during turns. After a while the clicking settled down.
Most vendor instructions say 4 oz are to be used, but everybody here in the forum talks about adding enough until the clicking stops.
What do all of you use for additive? And how much do you normally use when you do a diff change?
I used this:
