Default charging sys.

Is it just me, or is the charging system on the rams a little weak? Things like turn on the ac and it visually bogs the lights,electronics....ect.. Roll the windows up and when they hit the top the headlights dim. This is the second dodge ram ive owned. The first was stripped down. Ive never had a vehocle like this. Its like it needs a bigger amp alternater or somthing. Am i the only one?

I have the larger of the two stock alternators, have a bunch of extra lights, run two batteries and have a winch and have no problems...

I know exactly what your talking about. I have the same symptems. I put a tester on my alternator and my gauge starts moving down, it won't hold the load. I am currently looking at a higher output alternator, but for now I am just getting along with the stock one which is the 136 amp option.

By the way... I added #2 gauge copper cables to the alt. fuse box and grounds thinking it might be that the stock cables were to small. It didnt really help much but im going to upgrade my audio in the future,so it may help then...

It might, I am also running dual amps for my sound system. 136 is the high output option from Dodge, not sure what the smaller output one is, I think its 110.
