$550?! Seriously?! Plugs wires and a sensor?!

Advance auto copper/nickel plugs cost $2 each. The Dealer charges $6 or $8 each.
So, you can save around $100 if you buy your own plugs and give to them for install rather than paying the higher price for the Mopar one's which are the same as the Champions sold at the Parts store.
Plus install takes a while. Plug wires take about 1/2hr-40min after messing with all the re-routing and clip nonsense. EGR takes 15-20min. Tech will prob spend 3hrs on your truck total time. At $95/hr that's nearly $300 for Labor, so $250 for parts isn't too bad.
I'd atleast go buy the plugs to give them. Have them install Mopar plug wires and EGR if you'd like, but the plugs are just rebranded from Champion to Mopar.

I had a solid 2 1/2 hours on the plugs when I did them at 30k miles and I've probably changed 100 sets of plugs in my life. The two rear ones, driver's side I think it was were a b*tch, no matter what combo of universals, extensions, etc. I used I couldn't get a good enough bite on them, then after about 30 mins of cussing I got smart and used the old redneck, cut garden hose trick. Took less than 10 mins with that.
Now I'll know at 60k, at which time I'll do the wires with a thicker set.
I did my EGR at 50k even though it still didn't give a CEL. 10 minutes if that, couldn't be in an easier spot to get to and just two bolts...

My truck (knock on wood) has never thrown a code. But i hear the EGR being mentioned fairly often as a potential troublemaker. As as easy as it is to change and reasonably priced, with my truck at 100,000 now, is it something worth changing before it becomes an issue? And do these trucks (06') have a PCV valve?

You have COP's. No plug wires to deal with. Be sure to check gap on the plugs you install. Gap settings are on a sticker in the engine comparment. I believe it's .040"? You always want to gap to the smallest recc'd settings to allow for electrode wear.

Every hemi from 2006 on has a coil on plug. No wires. The 02-05 hemis have a single coil on one plug, then a wire that goes to the opposite bank to another plug.

So basically when they introduced MDS? And now I've learned something new. I love this forum.
