Just thought I'd post an update. I've put about 250 miles on the replacement engine so far and it's still purring like a kitten. I don't for see any issues with it as long as I treat it better than I did the original engine and maintain it properly. Thanks all for your replies and comments! I guess now I'm on to looking at trying to figure out what can be done to improve gas mileage. I had forgotten how much gas it used. Ouch!

yea a picture would help a lot. Our 4.7s are notorious for building up a lot of frothy sludge in the oil filler, which kinda sounds like what you are saying but you have a hemi so I don't know. could just be oxidation, but without a pic it's hard to say.

congrats on the install gibbs. I bought the motor for my swap, it should be in next week. got a 0 mile assembly line '06. You didn't happen to get a second set of steering pump, ac, and alternator with the second motor did you?

Unfortunately I didn't receive anything extra with the replacement. Best of luck to you with your swap. Bet you went broke buying the assembly line engine? I've been thinking of selling the old engine, but just don't know what to ask for it. I've been told that all is wrong with it is the lifters are most likely stopped up due to the sludge, BUT. Sometimes BUT stinks pretty bad so I didn't want to chance it myself. I have had someone offer to buy the old engine and they asked me what I would take for it. If I could figure out a fair price for it I'll probably sell it.

Back to your question. If you haven't found those yet the place I bought the engine from may still have the parts off of it. Let me know if you need their contact information to check.

Well I ended up getting all the accessories for my motor off a guy on DT. And yea, the assembly line motor cost a pretty penny. I've already cammed it and put 6.1 valve springs, manley pushrods, and a 6.1 timing tensioner on it. It's going to be fun.

By the way, I saw your old motor on the bay, good luck with the sale.
