Another good read. I've read over and over here, and all over Google about 17" vs 20", centrifugal force, unsprung, , tire load, yada yada... oh, my physics is rusty. I not defending either size, because I think they both look good.

So in theory, if you had a 20" rims (made of magnesium) that weighed the same as a 17" rims and the both tires had the same O.D. size and weighed the same, would it yield the same results?

Next, if I ran a set of 15" rims with LT tires would I increase my towing capacity?

Serious about the 15" rims. I know where I can pick up a set for cheap.

Sorry,

Are you saying I can't find an aftermarket 15 or 16 inch 5 on 5.5 set of rims with the correct load rating for the 3rd gen ? Confused about your stated, please be specific. Bummer, if so.

Just pick'en at you, but I think you missed the part about being specific. Please don't take it the wrong way.
Is it because of the offset or center hole?

Yep, simply a matter of not being large enough to clear the stock brake parts...

Hemi 20" wheels 3:92 gears. What's the best way to tow on a flat 1100 mile trip? In "tow/haul" mode or in "O/D off" mode?

Tow mode is just that - for towing. If simply turning OD off was all that was needed, they wouldnt need a tow mode button.
