Default 05 Ram-AC problem

Heya folks was poppin into see if anyone has any suggestions about my AC issue. I have an 05 ram 1500 with a 4.7. The ac on the drivers side works fine but not at all on the passenger side. When I turn the AC to the vent position on occasion I hear a rather loud thud. This leads me to believe that one of the blendoors is not working properly. The thing that gets me is that I'm not sure if there is a door that separates the driver from passenger side since I don't have and duel climate control or anything like that.

Please if anyone has had this problem or has any ideas..... Post away.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the site and a blend door as you suspect would be your issue.

The Speed Channel show Truck U, October 29, 2011 was titled "Dodge Common Problems. Included was the blend door issues and the rear tail light failures. On the blend door, they showed the problem and the fix without taking the dash apart using the the Heatertreater kit. You can find the online version of the show at

Can not vouch for the products presented, but it is worth everyone's time for the information provided. They also provide the links with the vendors installation videos.

Next time, search the site first. There are a number of threads on this issue. Dirtydog has a sticky post above
