I just bought a 03 rq 1500 about a month ago. It is a SLT so it came with power everything. but it didnt come with keyless entry remotes. the dealership told me they would get me some, then came back and told me that the truck didnt have keyless. is this possible? you can actually buy a newer truck with power locks and not come with keyless entry. i have never owned a dodge before, but this just dosent seem right to me. any advice to lead me in the right directon would be helpful. thanks.

I just bought an '04 SLT and it also came with keyless entry. Maybe your dealership is just being lazy?

My slt did'nt have it either so i bought the behind the clocks module and two remotes on e-bay for $60,works great

 

Mine '03 Didn't have it.....I got it through Mopar...installs easily behind the speedo cluster.

 

Mine came with it, but if you decide to spring for one, check out Mopar's stuff. All their addon stuff is (with few exceptions) the same as is shipped with trucks new, and all fits perfectly---in this case, no mods to wiring harnesses, etc....they just snap into existing.

 

go to www.dodgeparts.com, on the left hand side click on Ram Truck. A screen will come up that has categories, click on Alarm & Security. They have a keyless entry system that is $82.80 that includes the module and 2 remotes. According to the reviews, it's pretty easy to install, then go to the dealer and have them program the computer, about $40 according to the reviews.
