Default intermiten "ding" when brakes depressed

ok i have a 07 ram 1500 and ocasionally it "dings" when brake pedal is depressed. (let off brakes) my dealer told me that indicates a bulb blown. well after checking all bulbs were good. and today i noticed that the right front parklamp bulb will come on but burn dim while brakes are pressed. and the right turn signal will blink real fast (but not every time you use the turn signal) most times it works perfect. and the dinging issue is getting more frequent and driving me nuts. has any one seen this problem before or can give me an idea where to start? i am very mechanical inclined. have dealer ship technician experience (ford) but never seen an issue like this before on anything. also when the ding starts no warning lamps on dash display is on. but its a single ding the same as the ding when the low fuel light turns on. it seems to do it worse if the head lights are on. i havent noticed it when they were off.

Correct, indicated a bad bulb going out or already out.

also i see your from albany. i am from moultrie area. i thought i recognized the truck in your sig pic. lol i go to albany a good bit. sweet ride.... mine is just a 2 wheel drive. gas milage sucks enough on it. i would hate to see a 4x4 but i knew dodge was not great on gas and i know resale value sucks. but i wanted one anyway. i averaged 20 mpg this weekend going to atlanta. now in downtown atlanta i averaged 12-13 mpg as expected.. but its worth it, i love my truck and the styling of the dodge is awesome.this is the first problem i have had in 50k miles.

If I were you, I would go ahead and pull all bulbs one at a time and visually check them. I had a bulb out/ding while driving down the road over and over one morning recently, all bulbs were working. Finally stopped. Pulled tail light, found a bulb that appeared to have melted a little bit on the plastic end where contacts are. Not sure why. I replaced it, and no further issues.

Drifter,

I would start with right turn signal bulbs if it is blinking fast some times.

i think i have found my problem...bad bulb socket. looked a little charred so i replaced it. and so far no issues. except the broken plastic clips that hold the tail lamp in on the outer edge. dealer says have to replace whole tail lamp to get them, i am going to see what i find

The system detects when the resistance of a bulb goes above a threshold and it sets off the alarm. However, mine does not do it "occasionally". It will ding at me the entire time the truck is running. Each time it does this I know that a bulb is *going* to be out soon but I still have to live with the dings for the next couple of days. I would like to get my hands on the engineer or program manager at Dodge who decreed that this ridiculous alarm would continue to ding for days on end instead of dinging once then staying off. I know the bulb is actually out when the dings stop and the "lamp out" light stays on continuously.

Just happened to me again last week. The dinging starts, no lamps are out. Finally the dings stopped and --there ya go-- one of the brake lights is burned.

Same here...My wife told me that my truck does the same when using the left turn signal and pressing the brake. Just went ahead and bought a new set of circuit boards. Weren't that expensive.
