Default 4.10 gear questions

hello all! i have a couple gear questions hoping someone could help me with. i own a 2005 dodge ram 1500 2wd hemi currently with 3.55 limited slip. my buddie is going to install richmond 4.10 gears, i also purchase the complete install kit from summit. are there any "heads up" concerns i should be aware of? will this change my spedometer? im currently running superchip 91 octane. if the spedo will be off can i fix this with the programmer? should i change the shift points? if so to what? nice place to have to come ask questions! thank for any and all help!

No speedo change needed and follow manuf' for break in method. I felt a good difference when going 3.55 to 4.10 but wish I went straight to 4.56s

Nope, no speedo change for gear changes, just tire diameter. I agree with SLT8, with a 545rfe transmission that basically has two overdrives, you can easily go into a 4.56 gearing.

Also, hope your buddy has set ring and pinions and most importantly in AAM axles, they can be a b*tch to get right.

If there is even a hint of whine you need to have them reset ASAP before they start to wear a poor pattern...

You need to change the gearing in your SC programmer. I could not find any posted shift schedules of '05's w/4.10's but tweak it if you need to.
