Default Leaking fluid from differential where the drive shaft enters

Does anyone why I would be leaking fluid here? If so, what part do I need to replace and how would I replace it?

Model year of truck? Details like trim level, engine, 1500/2500/3500, etc.?

Thank you!

Sounds like the pinion seal. The part is cheap, but swapping it is a pain. Its very common for it to leak.

Agreed. Mine had sprayed around the heat shield and pumpkin. New seal and good to go.
