almost all ram trucks in my country needs power steering pump after the snow !!!!
Heads up guys.. The 3rd gen PS system fails in cold weather. Had it happen in -40C and lost power steering. Dealer replaced it @ no charge to me, but that's not typical. Its one of the reasons I ditched my 1500 for my 3500 as the steering system is not the same and not prone to this happening. I feel there should be a recall but that's just me. I remember too that the rental place when I went to get a car for the duration of the repair had every one of there dodge products down except the 2/3500s.
Sorry to hear about your situation;
If I were you I would flush your system or at least start to replace your fluid a pint at a time.Take some out and refill it with a pint or so of fresh ATF+4.Drive it awhile and replace another pint until you feel you refreshed the system.
I think the temp. extremes you guys experience might of compromised the integrity of the PS fluid in your truck.

I spent the whole day today in scrap yards looking for a power steering pump for my Bee, the outcome is zilch zero nothing…….not a single power steering pump available neither new nor used. One of the scrap yard owner told me that he sold almost 30 Rams power steering pumps during the last week only, and he is currently out of stock similar to all other yards……another owners offered to get me one from USA by courier and he asked USD 500 for it. I told him this is expensive ….he answered No while looking at my E39 M5.
Long story short, I ordered a remanufactured one from summit
