Default almost all ram trucks in my country needs power steering pump after the snow !!!!

very strange thing happened with almost all ram trucks in my country after 2 days of snow , the power steering pump in every one is not working and if it is still working its not working properly as in the case of my truck some times it gets very hard to steer then it goes back to normal and so , i checked the oil its ok and everything else is fine but its on its way to stop working as the rest of ram trucks , the problem is: the garages here are filled with rams waiting to find power steering pumps , only special order to get it and in a period of one month !!!
what is going on ??!! why this problem appears in rams after the snow !

Dunno, since I live in the southern US where I almost never see snow, but we have all kinds of Canadian members on DF and I can't recall any of them with an issue. I used to live in Upstate NY and have spent a good bit of time in Canada and believe me - it gets COLD there...

Its really strange hammer , i didn't believe what i saw today every garage or workshop i went to, there is two or three rams all needs power steering pump , and its happening with my truck now , as i mentioned sometimes its hard to steer , what shall i do to prevent it from getting worse ??
Do you think doing donuts on snow while on 4 wheel drive made this issue ? coz this was the common thing between all rams

thats strange. I know several people with 3rd gen rams and have not heard of anyone having that issue. The last 2 weeks we have had a lot of snow here and I regularly get sideways with the truck and my power steering pump is fine. We probably had more snow and colder temps than you would have got so i'm not sure why all the steering pumps on your trucks are failing.

Yes you have colder temp and more snow , that's why am surprised . if this happened here to one or two rams i would say its acceptable but a lot of them ? and all are 4x4 its strange . my truck's power steering pump is working but as i mentioned some times it become heavy with little vibration on the steering wheel (when am at traffic light not moving) am afraid that it become worse and stop working so any ideas what to do ?

Well I'm sorry to hear this, it sounds like it is a shipment problem when Chrysler sent the trucks over there. I wish I could help, all I can say is I hope your new one isn't faulty, and hopefully Dodge covers it as a recall. I was recently off roading in about a foot of snow, 4x4 active and doing donuts, not any loss of power steering.

How hot would you say it gets during the summer? Sure Canada gets cold, but the steering systems there don't exactly see temperature extremes (110+ summers and below freezing winters). Maybe has something to do with it? Try flushing your fluid?

Thanks for your kind feelings with us , i don't think its shipment problem coz each bought his truck from different source from the US not from the dealer here, dealers here do not import ram trucks coz they are very expensive and only a few people own ram trucks , we got plenty of gmc and chevys and fords which by the way they are laughing at us ram owners coz of this problem and they call our trucks ( the soft truck )
