Exclamation 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L Stalling sometimes...

2005 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab, 4.7L V8, 2x4. 98k miles.

So my truck stalled today rolling through a parking lot. Then stalled again later when I was turning into a parking spot. It has a newer battery and new spark plugs. Seems to be idling higher than normal when the truck is cold. What's the most likely cause here? IAC? TPS?

Update: It has not stalled again yet... but the weather has cooled down. The day it stalled twice it was really hot and sunny outside if that could cause it somehow?

Hey Aero.... The truck that I bought last year... 2002 1500 4.7.... did the same thing when I first got it. On the advice of a guy at my local AutoZone here I took the IAC gizmo out and cleaned it.... hasn't so much as sputtered since. It's an easy fix.... all it costs is some carb cleaner.

OK, I will clean the IAC tomorrow. Where is it located on the 4.7? I know on my 96 ram it was on the back of the TB, same location for the 4.7?

Yeah... seems to me it was on the right side of the throttle body as you are looking at it from the front. Simple little gizmo with two screws holding it on and a small lead on a blade contact. I just took it off... gave it a shot of carb cleaner... scrubbed it with a small wire brush or something... and stuck it back on. Like I said.... hasn't sputtered since. Gotta love fixes like that.

Thanks, I replaced the IAC today. It was on the right side of the TB like you said but only one bolt. It was actually snapped off inside the TB so I had to get the snapped of section out then replace with a new IAC which was rediculously overpriced.

The nubbin thing that protrudes into the TB was broken off?!?!? Very interesting. Can anyone speculate as to why this may have occurred? How much did the IAC cost ya?

The entire half of the IAC that goes in the TB was snapped off inside. It was very corroded and may have happened when I was trying to remove it as it was hard to remove. The IAC costed $69.99, $75 after tax.

That's odd, I just looked it up on Advance Auto and it is $70 before tax.
