I replaced my blower motor resistor a couple of days ago because it was cracked and appeared to have melted a piece of the metal. The replacement worked for two days and stopped working again I took the resistor out and it was cracked and melted again the guy at autozone told me it was a lifetime warranty on the resistor. Is it the resistor or the truck?

Have you checked the relay? I'd trace every wire and look for a short too. It sounds like excessive amperage being sent to the resistor.

Steeler,

I agree with Dudeman. Sounds like a short of some kind.

I'm guessing a defective blower motor for it to have burned that out. One would hope the fuse would have blown if it was a direct short.
