Default 1st to2nd gear shifts

Just checking to see if i,m the only one who noticed, when accelerating at full throttle, the gear ratios (5 speed auto)are allowing the engine to drop out of the power band. VERY BAD FOR PERFORMANCE!

What ring/pinion ratio are you running? Typically first gear is fairly steep so you can get away with a lower (numerically) rear end for increased fuel economy. If you've got the lowest ratio you shouldn't expect race-car accelleration. It's a compromise for fuel economy. The drop in RPMS is going to be the same, but your mechanical advantage will increase with shorter gears.

Do you have the 4.7? I find that the Hemi does a good job at just about any RPM, when it gets over 3000rpms is where the fun really starts though.
