Unhappy Someone please help!

So I just recently got my dodge ram 1500 5.7 liter hemi out of the shop.

The week after the check engine light came on. It was on for about half hour then I put gas in it and the light went off. the next day the check engine light came on again. So I took it to O'rielys to get it tested and they said it was the EGR valve or the gas cap.

Well that was last night now this morning If I keep my truck at about 1 rpm while driving it acts like the truck is going to die.

Has anyone ever had this happen? I am really worried. I can take it back into the shop but I am curious if anyone can put my mind at ease on what it could be and if this has ever happened to them??

Thank you so much for any help!

The egr valve is only like $30 so swap it out for a new one. If that got clogged up you should probably remove and clean your throttle body and replace the pcv as well.

She may not have one. Does sound like the gas cap. Back it off and re-tighten.

I had a similar issue with my truck, it was the gas cap. I did however have to get the computer cleared. Whether it's the value or the cap, get the code cleared after each attempt.

Those are similar symptoms I had when my EGR Valve went south... assuming you have one. What year is your truck?

Yeah, if it's an 03 hemi you won't have an EGR valve.
