Also I did hire a lawyer to find that bogus ticket I got. I am not anyone who has seizures, I am diabetic. Steps to ensure it does not happen again? 1/ If I am unsure as to whether I have taken a shot, I check my sugar before considering another dose now. I don't use sliding scale, I am on 70/30. Also take note, I did not hit anyone or hurt anyone but ME.

I realize you don't have seizures, but it's pretty much the same thing - you lost control due to a physical/chemical problem. It could happen to anybody, but your chances are higher. I also realize you didn't hit or hurt anybody but yourself, but that's only because you got lucky. Next time who knows, try the lotto.

I also carry hard candy in my console now, I never thought that was necessary before, so I am taking precautions, I hope you never have a problem like Diabetes, you sound like the type that would just give up on everything. I am not that type, never will be, sorry if that offends you.

C'mon guys. Give this guy a break. He was just sharing his experiences of why he wanted a Ram. Personally, I'd rather be driving on the road with this guy than some 16 year old that just got his DL. No offence to the young people out there, but it is just my opinion. For that matter, I'd rather have this guy on the road driving with me than someone with a cellphone shoved in thier ear!

Now that that is out of the way, let me be the first to welcome you to DF. You will find lots of good info. The Dodge Ram is quite a nice daily driver. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Do you know me well enough to make that statement? I bought my first house at age 20. When I was 22 I was diagnosed with cancer. I told my doc that I don't care what it takes, let's just get it done. So I did chemo for a couple of months, going to work 36+ hours every week, and I did radiation for a month and a half, working as close to full time as possible considering I had to go to the hospital every day for treatment, and I got it done. Bone marrow biopsy? What's that you say doc, it's going to hurt like hell for several days, ok fine whatever, let's do it and get on with it. Do I want to numb up where you're going to jab the huge chemo needle in me? No. Just stick it in and get it over with. I moved, bought my current house, built in 1911, and I'm doing a major remodel by myself. I've replaced all of the plumbing, the floor and part of the subfloor in the bathroom, and I'm working on the rest of the place. It's a huge project, quite overwhelming, and I've been working on it for 3 years. But give up?

I have a family history of Diabetes and I honestly hope to avoid it, but if I can't, oh well. I'm completely over my fear of needles now so I wouldn't have a problem giving myself the injections. I'm glad to hear that you've taken steps to prevent this from happening again. Honestly I took your post as 'hey I really ****ed up my car so I'm getting a truck so I'll be invinsable if it happens again' with total disregard and no thought about prevention. I'm sorry you went through it, and you're not the first person I know who's had something like this happen.

I wanted to bring up a point I had not mentioned here before, or don't think I did anyway. I was headed home from Durham to Burlington, I apparently missed my exit and drove on another 17 miles past my destination, to the point I wrecked, I have little or no recollection after I left the ice cream shop in Durham, I am not sure if I had some memory loss due to low blood sugar or what, but I managed to drive almost 50 miles before wrecking the car, and as I said I didn't hit or hurt anyone but ME, apparently I was not totally out of control there to make it that far.

Suck it, Bueller. I wouldn't trade what's happened to me for anything. It's made me who I am today, I enjoy life a lot more than I did before. I'm not a slave to my job, my priorities have shifted a lot. I'm certainly not asking for anybody to feel sorry for me because I don't feel sorry for me. I was just trying to give an idea of where I'm coming from. There are plenty of people who have it worse than I do, and actually I'd take my cancer over diabetes anyday.

I replied to the email notification of the PM, but stupidly enough the reply goes to DF server instead of the sender of the PM. My mistake... Basically what I said is that it was a blessing and I'm much better off after it. Rick probably understands that better than a lot of you now. I'm sorry I came across as harsh but I had my reasons, which were aparently for naught.
