Default Grille guard problem

I recently got a grille guard for my truck but it for a 3/4 ton with tow hooks. Has anyone put a 3/4 ton grille guard on a half-ton? If so, did you make new mounting brackets or just drill into the frame? Any info would help

What make and model Grill guard did you get? Have you tried installing it yet? If you have tried, what isn't lining up top mount or bottom mount?

The mounting holes for the tow hook should be there. Take off the plastic filler panel on the front bumper(real bitch to do without proper tool) you should see them. You might have to get a few spacers to make up for the thickness of the hooks but there should be enough adjustability built in to the mounting hardware for trucks without the hooks. I'll take a pick from the underside of my truck with my hand on the mount location so you can know where to look.

Hammer I'm glad you chimed in, I've done all the install work on my 2500 but I didn't do any of the installs on my 1500 so I wasn't too sure.
