Unhappy Potential Tranny problem?

This is the second time this has happened to me on consecutive Fridays.
Get done playing a round of golf 3-4 hrs...jump in to the truck ,start it up back out of the parking spot, put it in Drive and nothing! Feels like I'm in Neutral. Put in Park rev the engine slightly and try again, then it engages but kinda of harsh w/a clunk.
Shifts fine afterward w/ no ill affects.
Fluid is fine: color, smell and amount.
Anybody experience this?
Truck has 54.000 on it and is up to date on its maintenance and drive it everyday.

It sounds like it might be the spin on filter inside the tranny. The pancake filter is 1-8595 and the spin-on is 1-8593. I think these are wix part numbers. When the spin on starts to get filled up, it seems to take a few seconds for the tranny to engage, at least that's what I've seen.

Common problem, mine has done it since 70k (now 120k). No ill effects. Your torque converter is just draining back into the pan. You can get it fixed if it really bugs you, but it does no damage to your trans. Just kind of annoying, as it usually takes 5-10 seconds to engage into gear.

My durango did the same thing after i bought it. Try a few ounces of lucas trans fix. People can say what they want about adding stuff like that, but it fixed that annoying problem for me.
