oh bump stop pads on the axle itself ... gotcha .. I was confused. I had the rubber stops on the frame I had to remove to install air bags, but never did notice I didn't have the landing pads for the stops on my axle. Interesting.

Default reiterate... pinion angle?

So down to my last question... pinion angle. Wondering if there is any difference in pinion angle since the axles are further from the frame than a 2wd.

Otherwise I think I'm all set to buy my 2wd axle replacement for my 4x4!

Thanks,
Paul

If you have any questions, shoot me a PM.
I was wondering if the rearend worked ok? I got a similar situation.

Did you have any issues with it down the road? I’m looking to swap my 2wd with 4wd

No. Like posted years ago only difference was the bump stop. Ensure you get the gear ratio you want in the replacement differential

Any part numbers for the painted differential part number says it's a 4x4 but does not have the bump stops But it looks like the black painted one too 2004 dodge ram Quad cab SLT 4.7 Long story short had a person. Change the rear differential from salvage Yard years ago they bought the wrong one. This is what I'm stuck with
