Default Turn signal issues

Dad's truck is having issues with the turn signals. The switch has finally bit the dust me thinks. Last night coming home, he hit the left signal and the right turned on. Yet when you hit it for the right, it doesn't work at all now.
The left still works but the highbeams stick, bad. lol

So, how much effort would it be to replace it?

Its most likely the lever itself that is bad. My thunderbird had the same problem so I just went to a junk yard and snagged one from another.

The turn signal issue sounds like the multifunction switch is bad. But the high beams sticking may be the lever itself. Mine is starting to go out so every once in a while when the left blinker is on it will spazz out and jump between left and right a bunch. If you search "multifunction switch" you'll find a bunch of threads about this.

Cool. I was thinking the entire assembly was to be replaced, or are the actually separate parts? FSM isn't much help sometimes.

Uh...dude, bottom of the post. 2002.

Sorry, Didn't notice.
The reason I asked is that 2006 and newer are covered for 150000 mi for the Multi- fuction switch.
Looks like you guys are SOOL w/that.
But it's a somewhat cheap part and fix.
Just don't forget to disconnect the battery and pull the air bag fuse before you mess w/ the steering column.
