Default Noise in frontend

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing but its not, sounds like the noise is coming from the part that is in the picture. Can someone tell me what the name of this part is? Thanks

This looks like your front axle / differential. Passenger side of the truck. The rusty colored thing on the left looks like the end of the CV axle that attaches to the stub shaft coming out of the diff. What kind of noise is it making and under what conditions? Does it change when you engage the 4WD while you are rolling?

Thanks and yes that is the cv axle on the passengers side. Sounds like a bad wheel bearing and the noise is always there while driving no matter what speed. Could there be something bad inside the diff? No the noise does not change when its put into 4 wheel drive.

Had the front end in the air and tried to move the wheels back and forth and nothing, laid under front end while someone turned the wheel and the noise was coming from the part in the picture.

did you use a stethoscope on it because noise travels and it still could be the hub bearing even though its not loose
