How much was your exhuast?
The Daytona started in that neighborhood but because of some personal concerns about car electrics/electronics and because I live in Southern California where trucks go missing by the second hand on a clock, not a calender, I added all kinda stuff. That price included an 84 month / 100,00 mile bumper to bumper warranty, the factory alarm (with replacement coverage) and Lojack. I added a Linex spray-in bedliner, and got bent over the hood on a Paint and Interior treatment called "Finishing Touch". (I expect they dumped a pint of Teflon on the paint and sprayed the seats with a can of Scotchguard but the finish is warranted for four years) It still may be a bit steep, but it was about as good a deal as I could get from any of the Big Three. From doing LOTS of research I made about the best deal available in my area. Maybe my saying "YES" too many times explains the additional costs.
Thanks you to everyone to replyed. Cool seeing the compation everyone made with each other. I just dont get it though, here in nor cal. A flowmaster cat back with dual rear exit. is min. 415. I must be going to the wrong places.. it looks like everyone out there with flows and magnaflows it runs over 200 and less then 300. Are the prices different depending where you live? Is looking online my best bet?
Part of the equation dealing with ANY vendor is going in with a fairly good idea of what you want in the first place.
A) Do you lust for a loud obnoxious torque-robbing system that tells everyone within two blocks you are coming?
B) Maybe a throaty rumble with enough bark to let them know you are coming when you WANT them to know?
C) A high buck system with a cool designer name fully-equipped with "bragging rights" and a window sticker?
If the Nor Cal shops are up in the $400 dollar range, they are likely changing all of your pipe and hangers in addition to the muffler. Can you live with your existing tips? Simply removing the factory muffler and resonator and replacing it with a nice stainless magnaflow will likely accomplish everything listed under "B" above, but comes up short on "A" and "C"
The beauty of the Magnaflow is that it is lifetime guaranteed, it doesnt reduce backpressure to the point of losing torque and it has an authoratative exhaust note that only reveals itself when ya stand on the "Long Pedal on the Right"
Just MY opinion, but you know what they say about opinions LMAOROF

I finally got my exhuast about a month ago. I love it. Its flowmaster 50 series recommender for my hemi, and its one muffler dual out each corner. IT ran me 415 bucks. I get comments on it all the time still.

i love it
