true gains from CAI?

Installing a CAI can help a little but not much. There are other factors/upgrades that can boost the power of rig.

+1 on this. I've put CAIs on pretty much every vehicle I have owned, and the Vararam definitely made the most noticeable difference of all CAIs I've used. Seemed to smooth things out quite a bit. Not unlike the Magnaflow Y-pipe. But like Hammer said, it's a supporting mod that helps when combined with other mods (i.e. throttle body, free-flowing exhaust, etc…). It's a little pricey, so totally your call on which route to go.

ALW1-
I don't have tow hooks, but there is plenty of room to the left and right of the intake scoop. I didn't like the look of the scoop, so I hid it behind a screen.
