relatively new to my 08 2500. comin from a diesel i just couldnt justify the $$ for another diesel as i pull our 8K lb loaded 5th wheel camper less then 100 milea from home prob 6-7x a summer. took a gamble and bought a hemi based on reviews i read. My superchipped hemi pulls camper just fine actually surprised me! also rolled 9mpg. happy with that as my modded 05 6.0ps diesel avg 10 pullin camper. anyways! my questions is what trucks have the detuned hemi? is my 08 hemi?

 

2006-2008 5.7L Hemi's in the Rams are all the same. No de-tuning or changes other than HD models(1500 Mega and 2500/3500 aren't MDS equipt)

i didnt know any of our trucks came with a "detuned hemi" theres the 5.7, 6.1 hemi (only came in srt car models and the grand cherokee) and now the 6.4 l hemi which is also just in srt car models and the grand cherokee

 

No differance in hp and torque as per stock. The 2500 drive train can't handel a hemi any ways due to non sevicable u joints prone to seazing up and ball joints wear out quick, and than you may have the drag link (tie rod ) fall off ...

My 06 2500 is a 6sp hemi, great engine in less than desirable dodge.
