Ya, I am sure you could. If I was looking for make one I would get some sheet metal and start bending and cutting. depending on the thickness double it up.

A heat shield helps, but you still have the major issue of the metal tubing. It transfers heat MUCH more then a plastic tube. I have a plastic tube going to my stock airbox so i have eliminated most of the hot engine compartment air being sucked in through the filter. BUT, the tube itself is still heating the air dramatically. It's surrounded by very hot air from the exhaust manifold below it and all the hot air coming in from the radiator. I am still seeing increases in 30-50 degrees on the IAT versus the ambient air temp.

I bought but have not yet installed a ThermoTec wrap kit for intake air tubes. It's not very thick but it's aluminized and it should most certainly lower the amount of heat reaching the tube. Ill post results once i do showing before and after temps. With a metal intake tube like your kit, some sort of insulation is a must.
