Default Leveled?

I'm fairly certain that the truck has a level kit on it, but not positive. I bought the truck like it is, and the guy I bought it from didn't know. The front sits pretty high. I'm going to need struts soon, and was wondering if there is a quick way to determine if in fact it is leveled so I order the right parts. Is there a stok ride hight or something that I can measure to? Is there any harm in taking the level off if I wanted to. I kinda don't like it this high.

Looking at your pics, I'd say your truck sure does have a leveling kit installed. Look for an extension bolted to the top of the front struts. You may not be able to see it because of the pockets the struts bolt into. You may have to remove the struts to see the "blocks". If you choose to remove the leveling kit you'll have to get a front end alignment to get everything straightened out again..... assuming whoever ever installed the leveling kit had it done properly.

It could also have quiklift struts which means you could adjust the height back to stock level

Just measure the front from the ground to the middle of the wheel well and then the back, is there a big difference? My was a 2" difference and when I got my level put on there is a .25" difference now I believe. Anyways from what I have read there will be a 1.25"-2.00" difference with the stock ride height. If yours is not, then it is leveled.

No Quicklifts. The struts look stock, but it is riding higher than stock. Dunno about the alignment, but the truck tracks pretty straight when the wind isn't blowing. I like the factory raked look. Does anybody have airbags on the rear of their truck on here with pics? Maybe if I could raise the back end a little, the front wouldn't bother me.

you could get monroe load leveler shocks which raise the back 1.5 inches and give you more payload

08hemi, thanks for the tip. I'll look into those.

Could be someone just cranked the bolts on it and there would be no visible signs of a leveling kit otherwise. Take the measurements as suggested. If they are pretty close to equal, something was done to level it. If it is leveled, and you want to replace the front shocks, and there are no shock spacers installed, go with something that is good for about 2" over stock size on the front.

There aren't any torsion bars on 06-08s if that's what you meant Greg. There isn't a "free" way to lift our year trucks so it has to have a leveling kit of some kind

I can't see them, but looking at it next to another 4x4 from the same year, it's noticably taller up front. I think I'll go with the load levelers or air bags in the back to get the rake and help with heavy hauling. If I get air bags, are there any bolt on kits that don't require any drilling into the frame. I'd like to do the istall myself if possible.
