Default 2004 1500 5.7 Cruise Control

My cruise control won't turn on at all. When I push the "on" button, no cruise light...nothing. I have searched high and low and have seen several possibilities, but so far nothing has worked. I have changed the abs/speed sensors, brake switch, both switches on the steering wheel, and the clockspring, and again...nothing. As far as I know, the only parts left are either the cruise solenoid under the battery or the PCM.

My question is: Is there anything else that I should be looking for/at for a solution? Does anyone have any other suggestions that I could try? I'd really hate to have to take the truck to the dealer and let them charge my hourly to diagnose the problem.

Any help is, as always, appreciated.

Both of you might want to download the Service Manuals from the links in my signature and see if they can help out.

I'm also having a similar problem except mine will sometimes turn on but will turn off in a few seconds. I'm also hopeing that I don't have to replace the pcm or the solenoid because those are expensive. I wonder if this has to do anything with the famous "fuse box corrosion" as I rigged mine up last year to fix my parking light issue.

yeah I have tried unhooking the batteries no luck. I have ohmed out the wheel switches all good. Have ohmed out the brake pedal switch all good. ohmed out the wires from the switches on the wheel to the pcm. So not real sure where to go with it. If I remember right the light on the dash use to come on with the on/off switch while the vehicle is not moving or in gear but I never payed much attention to the light unless going down the road.
