Question Weird cruise control problem on my 04 ram

Hey guys, I just bought an 04 ram quad cab 4x4 with the hemi. The previous owner said that the cruise worked when he took a long trip to alabama but on the way back the cruise quit working and he never got it fixed due to he never used it around where he lived.

When I have the truck in park, or just sitting at a red light I can press the cruise "on" button on the steering wheel and the cruise light will come on, but when I start to drive it cuts off...weird. When I'm driving interstate and try to turn the cruise on it doesn't come on though...

I tried checking the fuses but they looked good. Any help would be appreciated

Frank

I'm having the same thing with my 04. It seems to becoming a more common problem here because it seems to be a lot of threads on this lately. Mine does the same thing as yours, you sit at idle the light will come on without a problem, but as soon as I get over 6 mph, it turns off. Mine will sometimes turn on while driving, but it will turn off soon after.

Mine did the samething. Left front wheel bearing bad. Cruise gets its signal from there. replaced both, no problems since.

I've been searching some and found this, it could possibly be a problem area:

http://www.justanswer.com/dodge/1v75...wheel-abs.html

I went out and looked under my truck and I did see that there was something that looked like an extra line going to a sensor or something on the drivers side Front wheel ( I wasn't able to take the wheel off tonight)

Recently replaced my wheel bearing hubs on the front with the ABS on the drivers side and resolved my issues also

Thanks for the help guys it looks like the front hubs are the ticket. Can just the sensor go bad by chance? I haven't experienced any shaking or anything while driving. What would the Simptoms of a bad bearing or hub be?
