Default Rumbling in front end after ball joint replacement

Hey guys,

I am wondering if anyone noticed a rumbling in their front end after replacing the ball joints. I just replaced my uppers, lowers, tie rod ends and shock absorbers and now it feels like the tires are rumbling. I am thinking maybe they are just out of balance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you make sure everything was torqued down correctly? If you think it is the tires then rotate them.

I did tourqe everything down correctly. The rumbling was not present before the ball joints/tie rod ends/ shock absorber replacement. This makes me think it had something to do the new parts versus the tires being unbalanced.

I am second guessing my tourqe specs now though...Does anyone have the factory spec for a 2004 Ram 1500, Hemi, 4x4 SLT?

Download the FSM from weed's links above, they're in the factory manual.

did you have an alignment? with the new parts the tires may not be align'd correctly. IE riding on the inside or outside edges.

Thanks Boosted! I do have the correct torque specs.

I did not have an alignment! Any suggestions for a place with a solid reputation at a reasonable price?

Wait, how did you replace everything on the front end and NOT get an alignment? OMG! You still got any tires left?

Haha, Feel a bit silly about not doing it now! I have only driven 30 miles or so and should be fine. Thanks for your help and the manual links Weedahoe!

glad they helped you out. A lot of sites charge for them and especially on ebay. Here, they are free for everyone.
