Default 05 Hemi - Tow/Haul vs 19ft Bass Boat

When pulling my boat (19ft Nitro 901 bass boat) should I use the tow/haul mode? I don't know it's exact weight but it should be under 3000lbs.

I would, just to save the excess wear and tear and the tranny from it hunting for OD.

I pulled a 19' Javelin bass boat with a 175 HP on it, full of gear all over the southeast for tournaments the first two years I had my truck. Only time I used tow/haul was pulling the mountains of north Georgia/Tenn and western NC...

If you are on level roads and can maintain a steady speed then OD works good. Otherwise it won't make much difference anyway so you might as well turn it off.

For the most part, Indiana is flat. There is some hills in the southern part of the state but nothing too extreme.

In significantly hilly our mountain type areas, i would use tow/haul. On fairly flat roads, i probably wouldnt. When i tow, its usually a heavy rv and i always use tow mode. But i have towed boats on occasion and cargo trailers with golf cart, atv, or dirt bikes on it and for stuff like that, i dont use tow mode unless i feel like the tranny is straining. After owning the truck for years and towing quite a bit with it, i can sort of tell when something is straining it or not. It is very flat where i live so i can usually get away without tow mode for lighter loads.
