5.7l 03 ram1500 mysterious engine light blinking??
hi everyone i have 2003 ram 1500 with 5.7l quad cab. with 86k on it
Recently done tune up use everything mopar 16 plugs change with pcv valve, evap canister filter fuel fill pipe and all that small crabby vacuum hoses etc, like i sad use all the parts mopar and car is completely stock including air filter
))
After everything change start right up and drives nice and smooth but my service engine light starts blinking randomly never stay more than second just lights on and off randomly no code try scan code. run test mode with scanner drive with live data on try to read code from dash screen but nothing all the gauges oil pressure fine starts and runs nice just like before but this light driven me crazy??/ anybody has any idea what it could be?? and only difference i notice after shut off the car that clicking noise takes about minute and half to stop Mechanic friend sad SMPI ignition system has springs and works with spring loaded spark system it could be it but even if it is why springs are still jumping 1 min 35sec after shut off???. So i end up with a lot of confusions and still have no idea what wrong with it..
RE check everything already re torque all the plugs and coils check firing order check all the vacuum lines with gauge no leaks shown everything it looks normal in place ??????
And one more question is that any way to clean that internal pcv housing i have that plug type pcv behind throttle yeah i have that plastic one piece intake manifold Stupid
) I mean who can think to put a plastic intake manifold on pick up truck with v8 hemi engine which usually driven by heavy job owners or monster truck lovers.
Open for any kind of infos Thanks

Mine comes on about a week after reset. stays on til reset. My brother & I both bough 2003s, new, and we both had the same problem within a week of ownership. It was something to do with fuel fill sensor. I had mine replaced and about 3 weeks later happened again. So I just ignored the light. But now I would like to find out how to unplug or jumper the sensor wiring, so that if something serious happens my engine light will come on and warn me. I spotted your post in my quest for a solution.
