ummmm, i know on the 02 rams they had a problem with a bleed valve on the t.c. that would allow trans fluid to bleed out of the t.c. and then when u start truck in morning it doesnt move in drive or reverse unless u give it some gas. could possibly be a problem with that valve if they still have them on the 04's and 05's, but i dont know, this might help

I'd be curious to know how many miles are on these truck, even though they are 2005's. And if they are over 30k, if the trans. fluid has ever been changed. Mine doesn't have any problems, and it is a 2005 with 30,000 miles on it. I chage the fluid every 15k just because I can with the new pan having a drain plug. (filters changed at 30k).

If you get a chance see my post on the 2006 I have that the transmission fail at 11,000 miles with no warning. As usual the dealer can not explain why they are replaceing the clutches on the 5 speed auto other than bad material. Within a few min. I lost both forward and reverse. I think that the TCS fail to properly enguage the clutches which took them out. Dodge warrant Cs told me to take the fix and see if it breaks again. Whis I had a chance to work on their car. Broken valve no problem we can patch it wit JB weld. atleast long enough for the check to clear.
